The place itself is beautiful, and the two ladies working there were very nice, but a lot went wrong during our Friday-to-Sunday stay with my lady friends and family. The host welcomed us with wine and seemed a bit tipsy. We were tired after the long drive and wanted to get to our rooms, but she kept talking for a long time. We were given a Wi-Fi code, but couldn’t connect that first night; the next day an employee said the Wi-Fi hadn’t actually been paid for, which made me question the host’s integrity. Breakfast also wasn’t ready on time, even though we’d been asked what time we wanted it. On our last day, I was last to shower and couldn’t wash properly because the water had been cut. We asked for it to be restored and were promised it would be, but that didn’t happen. During breakfast, the host told the employees she had just turned the water back on. The towels were so old and scratchy that using them wasn’t a nice experience. Some beds were uncomfortable too, and one base was a different size from its mattress, so we kept bumping into it.

If you want something affordable, this may suit you, but it’s terrible for comfort and rest. Nothing works, there’s never any water or electricity, and the establishment has no backup for guests. The Wi-Fi is sluggish and barely connects, DSTV doesn’t work, and they don’t answer their calls. Nothing works here.

I was very unhappy with the service at Dithabeng guesthouse. We arrived to find no water, and the ceiling in my room was filthy and looked like it leaked when it rained. The mattress was very uncomfortable, the towels were old, hard, and scratchy, and there were spider webs in the corners of the walls and ceiling. The electricity kept going off and the microwave didn’t work. Honestly, there’s a lot they need to upgrade.

The rooms were clean, the area was quiet and pleasant, and the staff were helpful. Still, there were plenty of frustrating things. We had to beg them to turn on the air conditioning, DSTV wasn’t available, and there was no generator during load shedding. The beds were uncomfortable, with bases that didn’t match the mattress sizes. The fridge didn’t work, so our meat and fish spoiled. We also shared the kitchen with staff, and access was limited because they locked it when they went to sleep. There were spiders and ants in the dining area too.

The bedrooms are a little small, but it’s a nice place to sleep over in Mogwase and have a good breakfast. The lady looking after us was wonderful, and I was impressed by her service.
