We ate here in December 2022, shortly after the restaurant opened under new ownership, with a new chef and kitchen following a renovation. The bar was fully stocked and there were sports on TV. The relaxed, quaint atmosphere and brilliant views would suit couples or families. Service was excellent, and we had the freshest, best fish and chips we've ever tasted.

The views are great, and the rooms are comfortable, but the breakfast I had was pretty poor. This is the only short-term accommodation in Oyster Bay, and the place needs more attention and care. A colleague mentioned dirty surfaces and fittings, and there are little things that could be improved throughout.

The apartment we stayed in was lovely, and the view was phenomenal, but service and attention to detail need work. There were loads of flies in both the accommodation and restaurant, something that should be handled without guests having to ask. The restaurant food was very poor, and new management needs to focus on quality and service overall. Oyster Bay is a hidden gem, and as its main place to stay and eat, Oyster Inn has a real opportunity to make it a destination.

We were there for Christmas, and the buffet of local, traditional specialties made for a great experience. On the other days, the restaurant was pretty basic, but the people and atmosphere were nice. Oyster Bay is a hidden pearl.

It's basic accommodation, but cleanly presented. Oyster Bay is a small coastal retreat that works well for a quiet few days with kids or a group of friends.
