Ironwood Lodge has become my top choice for holidays, even though I’ve spent most of my working life in hospitality and tend to be fussy about where I stay. I came alone with my little chihuahua and, despite the short notice, Caron did everything she could to fit me in. The price was great, and my unit had a little garden of its own. The beach is only a five-minute walk away, and I felt completely safe going there. It’s quiet, clean, and welcomes dogs. Pennington is beautifully looked after too, and the locals were so warm that I felt as if I’d gone abroad. There’s a swimming pool in a lovely garden, braai facilities, and both breakfast and self-catering options. I loved the homemade muslie and Tomato and apricot jam. Shops, restaurants, and a few fun places are nearby, and Caron took the time to suggest dog-friendly beaches and restaurants. I’d recommend Ironwood Lodge for a peaceful holiday or a work trip.

Seeing whales out at sea every day was the highlight, and the view from my room was beautiful. Ironwood Lodge also has a welcoming, homely feel, with a history tied to the Lodge and its ancestors. The accommodation was spacious, tidy, and carefully maintained. Breakfast each morning was delicious, and the owners and staff were friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay in sweet little Pennington, a quiet break from city life.

Caron made our last-minute changes feel completely normal, even though I was nervous to ask. She was so helpful and friendly. The staff she hired were capable and all went out of their way to make our stay memorable. Such a lovely place, thank you, Caron.

The beach is right nearby and the views are amazing. The hosts were so welcoming, and our rooms were spacious, cosy, and clean. Would definitely recommend 👌

Having our fur baby, Ollie, with us made the setup at Ironwood Lodge just right. Caron checked in before we arrived and sent a pin as soon as we booked. The place felt like home, with a private garden, clean rooms, and fresh towels every day. I was running very late on checkout day and missed breakfast, but Caron still asked me to come by afterward and kindly had breakfast made for me. That sort of generosity is rare. She really cares about her guests' comfort, and was very accommodating throughout. It’s a quiet spot surrounded by nature and the ocean. Thanks to Caron, the staff, and Covey.
