Abelana River Lodge

We were made to feel special from the start, right down to heart-shaped petals on the bed for Valentine’s Day. The room had everything we needed and more, and the facilities were well looked after. The menu clearly had a lot of care behind it, and there was always plenty of delicious food at Abelana. Everyone was lovely and attentive, and Jarryd was a knowledgeable guide who was always ready to help. Such a fantastic stay, 12/10 recommend!

We visited Africa with a big group this past week, and Abelana River Lodge made everything easy for us. I can’t say enough good things about our guide Jared. He was fun to ride with, knew his stuff, and really cared about making sure everyone had the best experience possible. We had an amazing time.

Seeing the wildlife up close was the best part of my trip. Storm and Mr. T were terrific guides, full of knowledge and determined to make the safari memorable. I felt lucky to see the Big 5 and more, a real dream come true. The lodge itself also exceeded my expectations, with comfortable rooms and breathtaking views. The staff were kind, professional, and attentive throughout, and made me feel welcome and well cared for.

We saw some special wildlife, including part of the Big 5, and the game drives and sunsets were stunning. The food was so good I came away a few kgs heavier, with delicious, top-quality meals every day. The lodge is gorgeous and well maintained, and from beginning to end the team looked after us so well. We had not a single complaint. Absolute heaven at Abelana Game Reserve, and we hope to come back soon!
