The booking was easy and the staff communicated well. The kitchen also had all the utensils and crockery we needed. But the rooms and decor looked very dated, and in person the worn bedding was shocking. We'd said during booking that we planned to use the pool, yet it had garden debris and an aerosol deodorant can floating in it when we arrived. We used the nearby net and cleaned it ourselves. When we asked for a mop, the one we got was filthy brown and barely usable. I wouldn't recommend this place.

The whole place is beautiful, and the gas stove was great. The rooms are lovely, and you get the entire apartment to yourself with everything you need and more, including a bathtub and a shower. Self check-in was so convenient. I stayed just one night at Wensleydale, but I'm planning to come back and book a longer stay. I've only got good things to say.

There was a terrible stench, and when we returned from the show, water was everywhere. We couldn't reach anyone on the emergency number to get extra towels. Our room wasn't clean, with dust, cobwebs and dirty glasses, and the fridge didn't work. The sheets and duvet covers definitely weren't clean either. The swimming pool was dirty too. We were part of a tour group, and the experience really brought the group down. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. The whole property felt neglected.

My husband and I booked Honeymoon Suite unit 3 for our wedding anniversary. We'd stayed several times before and been satisfied, but this visit was a complete disaster. The suite was filthy, with cobwebs on the lampshades and door frames, and the stained bathtub was disgusting. The shower cubicle and toilet were ridiculously tiny. There was no shower gel, shampoo or hand wash, and the kitchen was a mess, with no dishwashing liquid and a gas stove with no gas. The website promised tea and coffee, but there wasn't any. For a place called the Honeymoon Suite, it was in such bad shape that I wonder what the other units are like. When we asked Reception about the missing things, they said staff had left in a hurry at month-end and forgotten to put the supplies out. We asked for hand soap and were told the order hadn't arrived. How can basic supplies not be ready? I had to order everything from Checkers Sixty60 myself. Why aren't the staff supervised? I will never book at WENSLEYDALE again. You don't get what you pay for, or what was promised.
