The guesthouse is well placed, looking out over the bay, and the shared spaces are nice. But we didn’t get a particularly warm welcome from boat and felt rushed. Our booking said “standard room,” yet we had the smallest one. Small rooms can work if they’re laid out well, but this one wasn’t: poor quality furniture and design, very little natural light, and a terrible bathroom with almost no room for our toiletries. The bed was comfortable, though the room got quite hot without air con. Breakfast wasn’t great either, with limited low quality options and terrible coffee. Based on my experience, I can’t recommend it.

The breakfasts were delicious, and Vanessa, the manager, and her team made us feel very welcome with their friendliness and help. Ocean Watch Guest House is elegant, beautifully decorated and spotless, with thoughtful details throughout. From there it’s a short walk to the nearest beach and easy to get to restaurants, shops and attractions, while the atmosphere stays peaceful. The bay views are breathtaking. We had a truly memorable stay and look forward to returning. Highly recommend this gem in Plettenberg Bay.

We felt right at home here. The guesthouse was really clean and smelled nice, and the staff were super friendly. The view is amazing, so I’d suggest booking an upstairs room if you want to enjoy it. Breakfast was homemade with love and tasted great.

Our room was on the small, dark side, but the price felt fair for what we got. The guesthouse is close to the city center, the service was nice, and the upper terrace has a great view. Breakfast was fair, with a small buffet and eggs cooked fresh, plus bread, yoghurt and the like.

We stayed in the “Captains” room, which had a generously sized bedroom and a very large bathroom. The shared area, pool and deck were nice, with incredible views. The place was clean and very comfortable, and Vanessa and the team were so hospitable and friendly. It meant a lot that they remembered little things, like our plans for the day and how we liked our eggs. There was secure parking, breakfast was great, and restaurants and the beach were within walking distance.
