Foundry Guest Lodge

The reception experience was awful. The middle aged Afrikaans lady spoke to us in a condescending way when we asked about showers, saying that was what we got for booking “cheap rooms,” almost as if she were reprimanding us. Our room had a bathtub but no shower, and she showed no kindness or willingness to help. The customer service was absolutely disgusting. The room was smelly, dusty, and full of spiders and mosquitoes. I woke up to a giant spider on the ceiling above me. We were on the ground floor, and could constantly hear the people in the room above us. Every footstep came through the paper thin ceiling, and when they flushed the toilet the noise filled the whole room. It was especially annoying late at night. The people next door were also constantly audible. Breakfast was apparently included, but the kitchen never opened and no breakfast was served. Do not stay here. Book somewhere else or you’ll regret it.

The owner comes across as condescending and doesn’t communicate or deal with guests professionally. Communication is horrible, and the customer service leaves you feeling like they’re doing you a favor.

We were greeted warmly when we arrived, and the food was well prepared. The waitress service was exquisite, and the room was spacious. I did find three small spiders in the beds under the sheets, so the bedding needs to be changed and checked regularly. I’d consider returning on another trip.

We were treated with respect by all the workers, and everyone was very loving. The arrival was welcoming, and the waiter service was great. Thanks to Mr Fish for his excellent service at Foundry guest lodge. The bedding should be changed more often, but I’d still give 5 for all categories. Thanks 👍👋
