Hoedjiesbaai Hotel

We were very disappointed by the lack of service and wouldn’t recommend staying there. The front desk ladies had an attitude and never checked whether the plumbing had been fixed. On the second-last night, my husband woke to find our room flooded from a plumbing emergency, and we had to use towels to soak up the water. We tried calling the front desk, but nobody answered, and we weren’t given an emergency number. There was only a security guard on night duty. We reported the problem at reception and were told maintenance would be contacted, but when we came back from our day out, it still hadn’t been fixed. We had to use the shower to fill the toilet so we could flush. The rooms also weren’t cleaned properly. The passage carpets need a deep clean, and on the first day our bins weren’t emptied and there was no toilet paper. We had to ask management to empty the bins and provide toilet paper. Thanks to the breakfast staff for being friendly and helpful, especially the gentleman who suggested places to visit.

I think of this as my next home. Mr Chester, you’re the best, and compliments to the chef. The receptionist could use a little improvement in hospitality and customer care. You really need to update your pictures; the recent ones don’t do the place justice.

The view was so picturesque it felt like we were in Greece. We stopped at Hoedjiesbaai restaurant for drinks and had an awesome time. The staff were happy, friendly, helpful and kind, and the drinks were so good we wanted to stay for more. It’s a must visit if you find yourself in Saldana again.

The sea-facing location is great, and you can really smell the sea in the rooms. The room cleanliness could definitely be better.
