The view was excellent, and the hotel's restaurant served amazing food with professional, experienced staff. The service I received was excellent too. The unit felt more like an apartment than the Suite it was advertised as. The rooms are nice, but the suite shows wear. I can imagine lots of parties and guests smoking or damaging furniture. The floor was scraped and the finish looked tattered. Bring your own extensions and cell phone charger adaptors, because the room's adapter was in really poor condition. Wi-Fi on the 23rd floor was extremely poor. Also, the security doormen at the hotel mall entrance were very rude and not much help. They seemed more concerned with watching TikTok on their phones than assisting guests.

The rooms are really nice, and the staff are friendly. Our water heater wasn't working, and the washing machine broke and flooded the place. I called, and someone arrived in 5 minutes to replace the washer, clean everything up and get us hot water.

The location in Sandton is convenient, but the overall stay at Michelangelo Hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg, was only average. My room was disappointingly tiny, which made it less comfortable, and there were few amenities. I missed some of the conveniences I expect from a hotel in this category. Service wasn't terrible, but the staff seemed less attentive than at other places I've stayed, so things could have felt smoother. I'd rate the experience three stars. Bigger rooms, more amenities and better service would make a more satisfying stay.

The spa, fitness facilities and rooftop pool make The Michelangelo a complete retreat, and its central Sandton location puts upscale shopping, entertainment and business hubs close by. The dining options offer a diverse range of gourmet experiences. Staff are attentive and help make the stay feel seamless and indulgent. Fine art and furnishings give the lobby a polished feel, while the rooms and suites carry that same mix of comfort and refined style. The architecture and interior design are opulent, creating a sophisticated, elegant atmosphere. The price fits its luxury positioning, and for someone looking for top-tier accommodation in the heart of Sandton, the experience justifies the investment.
