The garden is breathtaking and well cared for, and there are beautiful sculptures around the house that Deidre and her husband Keith collected across the African continent. It feels calm as soon as you enter, with fresh air throughout. My room looked out onto a magnificent garden, though wet, cloudy weather meant I couldn't enjoy the view. The room itself was elegant, tidy, and comfortable, and the owners were so friendly it felt like home. I asked at the last minute for supper and breakfast on arrival day. Deidre went out of her way to make me a healthy, delicious supper and breakfast for the next two days. The day before I left, she offered me a tour. Thank you for a great stay.

The garden and the sunlight were a big part of why I chose this place, and I'd love to return in spring. It's a quiet, peaceful stay with more character than a hotel. I was working in Sandton and could get an Uber within minutes, with easy access to Sandton CBD. I also wanted extra Covid-19 precautions, which the hosts provided. The room was well sanitised and had additional precautions. It was comfortable and well furnished, and the hosts were friendly and answered my questions about supper recommendations. I'd highly recommend it.

We came from the UK to visit family and had a wonderful few nights here. The garden was a particular highlight. Our hosts were warm and welcoming, the rooms were spotless, and it was close to everything we needed.

Deirdre and Keith made me feel at home. She brought breakfast right on time, always with a lovely smile, and it was exceptionally good. Deirdre also picked me up from the train station and drove me to the test center for my NCLEX exam, staying with me until we reached the entrance. When it was time to go home, Keith drove me to the station. Guesthouse at 118 has an elegant, classy feel while still being simple and homey. The place exceeded my expectations by far, and the hosts are so nice. If I visit SA again, I'll choose it again.
