The rooms themselves are nice, but R1500 didn’t feel like the right price. In Room 2, the shower tap kept falling off whenever we turned it on. There was an event yesterday, with noise from reception, and we could hear the people in the upstairs room every time they walked around. We couldn’t even use the pool, and the bathroom ceiling looked as if it might fall in. Apart from those problems, the rooms are nice, just not worth R1500.

The rooms are set up well for self-catering, and there’s a good restaurant on the premises. The barman deserves a big shout-out for making sure the food is perfect and the beer stays cold. Gary makes sure you leave as a friend, not just a guest. Excellent break away. Well done, Gary and the team.

We checked out five minutes after checking in because we absolutely couldn’t stay. The welcome was poor, the staff need training, and the place wasn’t clean. They need to change the beds. Maybe it works if you’re travelling on a budget and don’t complain, since Geoffrey never replies. I believe he owns the place.

My bed was comfortable, but there were serious issues in the room. The toilet seat was broken, the bathroom light didn’t work, and there was no soap or shampoo. A half-step between the bedroom and bathroom seemed dangerous, and a strange neon light in the bedroom was off-putting. My colleague also found his bed comfortable, but his sofa was dirty, furniture broken, toilet seat broken, bathroom poorly lit, and there was no soap or shampoo. He had the same strange neon light in his bedroom. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this place.
