Sandton Hydro Executive Accommodations

Violette at reception took care of everything we needed over the weekend and made sure we were comfortable. Everyone was welcoming, from security to the housekeepers and receptionist. The rooms were tidy and clean. We had a great stay at the Sandton Executive Suites - Hydro Park, and I’d recommend it and come back.

The room was dusty and poorly kept, with oily stains everywhere and sticky doors and handles. There was mold in the shower, and the floor we stayed on smelled of curry and boiled meat. Reception was unwelcoming, and the whole hotel atmosphere felt wrong. I felt very unsafe and wouldn’t recommend it at all.

The room itself was beautiful and had an amazing view, but the arrival experience was frustrating. My partner and I stood in the middle of the lobby for 15 minutes because nobody came over to tell us where to go. Once we found the right counter, we were told security would take 20-30 minutes to confirm my information. We ended up waiting an hour and a half because no one had contacted me beforehand to collect it. That poor service cost me two hours of the stay I’d paid for. I hope they fix this soon.

These apartments are clean, neat, and well maintained, with superb views of Sandton city. The location is central for business, amenities, and transport. Access is secure with fingerprint entry, and visitors are recorded. The rooms feel luxurious, are cleaned every day, and have the cutlery, pots, and pans needed for self-catering. There’s DSTV, though it isn’t the full bouquet.
