I’ve stayed at this hotel more than once, and the experience hasn’t been consistent. On a recent visit I left early for site and forgot to order a packed breakfast the night before. In the morning they said nothing could be arranged. Some flexibility would have helped. The bathroom is awkward too. Water splashes out of the shower onto the floor, and with the toilet right beside it, the whole area gets wet and uncomfortable. There was also no hot water in my room during my December stay last year. I was told on the first night it would be fixed, but it still wasn’t working the next morning. I had to shower in another room and then go back to mine, which was inconvenient when I was getting ready for work. Restaurant service could improve. The staff aren’t necessarily rude, but they seem inexperienced and could use proper training. Orders take a while, and they often don’t bring your change promptly unless you ask. The service could be better compared with what you’d expect in bigger cities like Johannesburg. The hotel has potential, but better maintenance and service training would make a real difference.

I’ve been recommending Springbok Inn since I stayed there last year. It feels like a home away from home, though it needs some tender loving care to create a real gap over its competitors. Adding a loyalty card suggests management is ready for a big fight against the rest.

The stillness at night was the biggest highlight for me. Last night I could hear the silence of Springbok, not a sound. It felt peaceful and beautiful. The staff were very friendly too. If you’re looking for peace, you’ll know where to come...

The room had black insects in it, and I couldn’t get a restful night. There was water in the corridor too, a possible safety hazard. Check-in was difficult, and the receptionist could have been more welcoming and given me more information about the facilities and services. The conditions and discomfort were bad enough that I left in the early hours and found another place to stay at a nearby bed and breakfast. I’ll never go back to Springbok Inn.
