2/10
We flew from Johannesburg to Cape Town and arrived at Collections Luxury Accommodation with no way to get into the property. We tried the host or owner over WhatsApp, email, and phone repeatedly, but got no response. After check-in time passed, Booking.com also couldn't reach the host and confirmed we couldn't use the accommodation. Guests should at least be told if you can't host them. Instead, we were stranded, had to drive from the airport to Stellenbosch with the children, and waited for hours in hope of a reply that never came. The lack of professionalism, respect, and accountability was unacceptable and shocking. Extremely disappointing.

It looks quite upscale and was certainly comfortable, though basically a single-room bachelor flat. I had trouble getting my car into the very small parking area. The air conditioner was also an issue: it blew cold air straight at my face, and no amount of fiddling changed that.

The room was clean but tiny. The free wifi was very slow when it connected, and most of the time it disappeared from frequency. Cooking inside can also make the room smoky.

Lovely location, fantastic rooms, five stars. Booking-in service was five stars too!

Private, pretty, and spotless, with the best location and everything well equipped. What's not to like?
