There was a sock in my bed, the bathroom had a dirty hand towel, and my room smelled of cigarettes. There weren’t any towels in the room when I arrived.

The breakfast was delicious, and the omelette was especially good. Rooms are clean and decorated in an old-fashioned guesthouse style. It’s within walking distance of the CBD, and with so many luxury guesthouses around Stellenbosch Winelands, this little gem is a winner. You won’t be disappointed choosing it.

The service and communication were excellent, and check-in went smoothly. It’s peaceful, with a lovely garden and comfortable beds that made for a great night’s sleep. The rooms are spacious and beautiful, with high-quality en suite bathrooms and classy decor that shows real attention to detail.

After a few hours of sightseeing, the patio and pool were a welcome place to relax. The staff were warm and friendly, and breakfast was lovely, especially the yoghurt with granola and fruit. A wonderful guest house in a great location.

Willa made me feel very welcome and did her best to keep me comfortable. Kolonie’s is perfectly placed for a stroll into the town centre, where the shops and restaurants are. I was very happy with my one-night stay and can fully recommend it. I hope I get a reason to come back.
