Le Verger

The service and communication were both spot on, and they really made the stay feel like a perfect experience. We had a fantastic time at Avemore at le Verger. The apartments were beautiful and had everything you could want for a South African holiday.

That wood-fired hot tub was the cherry on top. We loved it! Le Verger Manor House gave us a spectacular five-star stay, with lovely accommodation and beautiful surroundings that capture the feel of the Cape Winelands. With the thoughtful amenities, it would suit families, couples, or friends looking for both relaxation and adventure. I wholeheartedly recommend Le Verger to anyone wanting to enjoy the best of Stellenbosch. Thank you so much!

FlySafair cancelled my Cape Town flight on the Monday before our Friday arrival, and I tried everything I could to find another way there. We contacted several airlines, looked for Saturday flights, and explored every option, but nothing would get us there in time and make the trip worthwhile. We also had to be back in Johannesburg by Sunday for work. I contacted the host and Airbnb right away. The host said it was up to Airbnb's policy, and Airbnb said they would talk to the host. After that, the host stopped replying. I asked for even a partial refund, half or even a quarter, so I could recover some of the more than R7000 I'd lose because of something entirely out of my control. I got no response, no understanding, and no refund. It added stress to an already frustrating situation and left me wondering where basic human decency and compassion had gone. I felt like a transaction rather than a person dealing with genuine, unexpected circumstances. Future guests shouldn't expect support, flexibility, or compassion if life gets in the way, whether it's a cancelled flight or an emergency. I'd strongly recommend finding accommodation with a host who keeps communicating and shows some understanding.

The outdoor setting and view were stunning, and the wood-fired hot tub, barbecue, and pool were a great bonus. The hosts were very accommodating, and the unit was spotless, beautifully decorated, and furnished with lovely quality pieces. This is the best self-catering place I've ever stayed in. I'll keep coming back here and to Avemore's other apartments in Central Stellies whenever I'm in Cape Town.
