Natte Valleij

The gardens at Natte Valleij are lovely, but our wedding in April left us disappointed in several ways. The cellar reception area was supposed to be repainted before wedding season, including for our event, and it still hadn’t been done. We also had venue tours going on while we were setting up, which felt intrusive, and dog mess remained on the grounds until an hour before the ceremony. We had to flag the spots that needed cleaning, adding stress at an already busy time. We picked the venue partly because we love dogs and it was described as pet friendly. But dogs wandered around our accommodation before and during the wedding, and one of the venue’s dogs was aggressive toward ours. We ended up having to keep our dog leashed and inside, even though he was meant to be part of the day. That felt very unfair. The most worrying part was a staff member’s conduct. He lingered around the reception and filmed the afterparty without permission, until we had to tell him to stop. He called and WhatsApped my husband from different numbers, knocked on our accommodation door the money after the wedding demanding money for his assistance, and kept contacting us late at night, even weeks later. We raised everything with Zoe and never heard back. The venue has charm, but management and professionalism fell well short for such an important occasion.
