The pool was a real bonus in the heat, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a huge bathroom, and the Wi-Fi stayed stable. The location was very good, close to the center and with plenty of restaurants nearby. Everything was excellent.

The views were magnificent, and I had an incredible weekend at Southern Sun de Wagen. The rooms were lovely, the food was second to none, and the staff were friendly and helpful. General manager Abel Pienaar checked in with us, then kindly gave us a tour and a detailed history of the hotel. Thanks to the de wagen staff and management. I'll most certainly be back!

The Wagenhuis King Suite at Southern Sun de Wagen in Stellenbosch made for an unforgettable evening for my wife and me. Its heritage character is beautifully preserved, with luxe contemporary comforts alongside it. The staff were warm and attentive, the atmosphere tranquil, and the standards impeccable, so the stay felt seamless. The Booking.com Traveller Review Award 2025 and 4-Star grading from the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa reflect the quality and consistency we experienced. Simply a hidden gem, and we can't wait to return.

Southern Sun de Wagen has a magical feel, tucked into the historic heart of Stellenbosch, with luxury, warmth, and authentic Cape hospitality. We were met with genuine smiles as soon as we arrived. The gorgeous rooms blend rustic heritage with modern comfort, and thoughtful touches made a difference: USB ports by each bed, complimentary toiletries, a fully stocked coffee station, a magnifying mirror for us ladies, and next-level linen. If I could give it six stars, I would.

I come back regularly because the rooms are beautiful, clean, and crisp, and the location puts you right in the heart of stellenbosch. The restaurant breakfasts are superb. I highly recommend staying here, its how its meant to be.
