Our two-night stay went badly from the start. When my partner and I checked in on Friday, the toilet wouldn't flush, the basin tap only opened on one side, so there was no hot or cold water, and several things in the room were broken and poorly maintained. We left at 8am on Saturday for our plans. When we came back, our room had been given to someone else without telling us or getting our consent. The replacement room was worse, full of bugs. Kill one and more appeared within minutes. Staff wouldn't find us another place, so we spent the whole night sleeping in our car. There was no warning about moving our room, no apology, no communication at all. This was the worst guesthouse stay I've had in Venda. I'd never go back or recommend it. There are better places around, and I regret not checking the reviews before booking.

This was the worst guesthouse. It felt like sleeping in a back room. The place was dirty and missing basics like clean towels, floor mats, hand soap, and refreshments. I wasn't looking for anything fancy, just the essentials. The photos must have been taken when it first opened, because it doesn't look the same now. The rooms don't lock. The security guard was no help and drinks with guests. A total disaster. Don't waste your money.

We paid for our booking but were turned away at the door. The manager was upset that we'd paid R512 through booking.com instead of R600 cash, and kept saying she'd only make R400. She claimed we'd booked through Expedia, which I'd never heard of until then. We showed her our confirmation and even called booking.com in front of her, but she still said booking.com had scammed us and expected us to leave. She couldn't send us to anyone above her and didn't apologize. We're still waiting for booking.com to refund us. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

The room was clean, and the staff were friendly. I enjoyed my stay at lugogo Guesthouse, and the service was very nice. I'd like to come back.

We were already on our way from Joburg when our booking was cancelled, even though we hadn't asked to cancel it. After we'd paid, we arrived to find the place full, as the security guard told us. The service was appalling, and we had to search for somewhere else to stay in the rain. I'm extremely disappointed. They don't deserve a star.
