I booked three rooms for one night and paid R2070. The rooms were in very bad shape, with dirty bedding, a broken fridge, no microwave or kettle, broken shower tiles, no shower door or curtain, and not even a toilet seat. There were cockroaches everywhere, and the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. This is the worst guest house. I’d tell anyone heading there to turn around immediately.

I was very disappointed and definitely won’t stay here again. The room was very small, there was no wifi, and I found a cockroach in my bed. There wasn’t a microwave or kettle, so they had to fetch one of each. If I’d known the area better, I would have checked out and found somewhere else. This was nothing like I expected.

The accommodation was terrible. For what they charge, they should be ashamed.

Bongs at the front desk went out of his way to help us, and the staff were friendly. Our room was spotless, and housekeeping did a great job. The bed was comfortable, though I’d have liked better pillows. We enjoyed the stay and would recommend Kaste Guest house to friends and family. More pillow options and an improved air conditioning unit would help.

Friendly staff and great service. It’s cheap too, definitely worth a visit.
