Town Lodge Umhlanga

The rooms were neat and clean, and breakfast from the buffet was very good. Dinner was another story. During our three-night stay, we waited over two hours for food every evening, even when we called in our order beforehand. It arrived cold and undercooked each time. The waiters seemed inexperienced and disorganized, and didn't seem to know what they were doing.

We spent most days working at the restaurant tables, sometimes for as long as 12 hours, and Simphiwe and his team made us feel welcome the whole time. They were so hospitable. The rooms may be a little small, but the cleanliness, staff, price, and warm hospitality made the six-night stay more than worth it. Thank you, team!

The beds were especially comfortable, with good cotton bedding, and the rooms stayed clean and quiet. The finishes were good quality, and hygiene across the hotel was excellent. Service was great, and having underground parking was a real plus. For a two-star hotel, it punches above its rating. I can highly recommend it as a budget stay.

We had a pleasant day at the conference. The room was well positioned, with enough seats, table pads, pens, and nice cool water provided. Lunch was great, and both tea breaks were lovely too, with fresh sandwiches in the morning and cookies and muffins in the afternoon. The staff were friendly and polite.
