The braai was a standout, and there was plenty to keep our three-year-old entertained. We also enjoyed the animal sightings and the location. My wife, our child, and I had a wonderful time at Jembisa. The staff were all so kind and accommodating that we felt like part of the family. Would recommend it!

Dinner was one of my favorite parts, especially getting to chat with people about life in South Africa and what the wildlife is really like. The food and alcohol are included, and the prices felt incredibly reasonable for the experience. You stay in the Whitbread family’s house on their estate. Our hosts were among the nicest and most knowledgeable guides I’ve had in Africa, let alone South Africa. I almost hate to share how good this place is, but if you’re anywhere nearby, it’s worth stopping.

The guides know so much that they’ll amaze and entertain you, whatever your starting level of knowledge. They take you around the home estate and beyond, introducing you to South African wildlife along the way. There’s time to enjoy the house too, whether that means lounging by the pool or walking down to the balcony overlooking the river. Make the most of what your hosts can show you.

The grounds are huge, so there’s lots of room for fun, and the activities are brilliant. I’d particularly recommend the zip line. The staff are charming, the atmosphere is great, and the food was good too.
