The ground-floor living area is a great spot for sunsets, right on the canal. It’s a stunning location, and the home is large and comfortable, with a pool. The master suite has a generous walk-through closet. There’s Wi-Fi and backup power for the stairs and Wi-Fi if loadshedding hits. With indoor and outdoor braai areas, it’s comfortable whatever the season or weather.

It’s a large, comfortable house that’s well furnished and equipped. I stayed in the downstairs room, which has an open-plan bathroom. The room’s wall light didn’t work, and its two bedside lamps weren’t connected. The only working light was in the bathroom area, and it was very dim. In summer there was only a feather duvet inner on the bed, with no alternative. There was also no spare bedding or towels for my four-day stay.

A lovely house to rent for a weekend or longer. It works well for medium-sized groups and big families, right on the water’s edge with all the amenities you could need.
