House and Heart Guest House

We booked three rooms at the last minute, and Lindie was very accommodating. The rooms looked lovely and were clean, and her staff were kind, professional, and efficient. Lindie's service was exceptional. Thanks to her and the team for the wonderful hospitality. We’ll be back soon.

Our booking was confirmed and paid for after booking.com showed four rooms available. When we arrived, we were told there was no room for us. They said they had tried to contact us about this, but only after the confirmed booking. No one made an effort to offer another solution. If that’s how you treat customers, hospitality may not be the right business. Don’t book at House and Heart Guesthouse, and avoid using booking.com for reservations because its availability system isn’t up to date.

The rooms are spacious, but the bedding, although white, smelled as if previous guests had been doing adult content on it. I tried to shower at 6 a.m., and after two or three minutes the water suddenly turned cold. The gas heater smelled bad and gave me a headache, and there’s no air conditioning. The food was bad. They buy it from Spar instead of cooking, and it may have been sitting out all day. Service was very poor too. I can’t tell whether it was a race issue or just generally bad customer service. I’d run away if you can. It’s not worth the money. Maybe book only if you’re desperate and have no other options.

The people were lovely, and the room was big, with beautiful surroundings. Coffee wasn’t great, but everything else was fantastic. A nice establishment.
