The grounds are beautifully kept, with lots of open space, a magical pool, and birds everywhere, from Wilderness Turaco's to woodpeckers. I loved waking up to a fish eagle calling each morning. A path and bridge cross the serpentine river nearby, making for a lovely walk and a mesmerizing sunset. I stayed in the quaint, well-equipped Sunbird Cottage, which had everything needed for a comfortable stay and a fantastic bathroom. I had a wonderful, relaxed time there, and strongly recommend this gem in Wilderness.

The garden is lovely, the setting is picturesque, and the housekeeper was friendly. We did run into maintenance problems and inconsistent policies. When we gave constructive feedback, the owner of SM, Susan, responded unprofessionally and said we could stay somewhere else next time if we had complaints. The property is now up for sale, and it seemed clear to us that she wants to leave hospitality. We hope to visit this beautiful part of the world again, and wish the future buyers all the best.

A peaceful little haven in a great spot. Susan looked after us and our pets so well. It’s pet friendly, which was the best part for us, and the lavender fields or orchard would make a beautiful wedding setting.

The place has a lot of charm, and the owner is lovely. It’s the kind of place you feel sad to leave. The price seemed reasonable, even cheap, and the facilities and services were more than wonderful.
