Aquarius Beach House

Ken Meyer was a relaxed, helpful, and easygoing host. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time in his extraordinary place. It felt private, cool, and beautiful, almost like it was our own. Our upstairs room had a breathtaking view, and sitting in the garden looking down at the waves was both relaxing and spectacular.

The view is lovely, and the room, bed, and linen were good. But the service was below average. The TV didn’t work, the room wasn’t serviced, and we weren’t even given toilet paper. There were only two towels. The site photos are a little deceptive, and the place needs better signage. The coffee and sugar weren’t what I’d expect, and there was no milk. Since breakfast isn’t served, I’d expect better kitchen facilities.

The views were great, but the room had no hairdryer. We tried calling and messaging the owner several times, and I ended up going to bed with wet hair. There was almost no handwash or body wash left in the bottles. A few small details like these would’ve made a big difference.

The location is beautiful, with stunning views and easy beach access. It was quiet and relaxed, Kenny was friendly, and the room was comfortable. We enjoyed the stay and location, but for the price we expected more attention to detail. We wanted more than the bare minimum of cooking, food prep, and cleaning supplies. A small braai for each cottage might work better than one shared braai outside with no light. A safe in the room would help keep personal belongings secure, and the room needed a thorough clean before we arrived, as we found shorts in the cupboard.
