Bennet and David looked after me graciously and made me feel at home during my two weeks there. I'll miss sitting by a warm fire with a cold Zambezi, watching beautiful wildlife drink at their well supplied watering hole. I was volunteering with the adjacent horseback safari outfit, so I can't comment on the guest rooms. A couple of things to know: paid WiFi was slow and unreliable, and it would be helpful to pay by credit card for small purchases. Some of the trouble came from power outages beyond Miombo's control.

We only had one night here and wished we'd stayed longer. It's peaceful and quiet in the heart of Hwange National Park, with raised wooden chalets, African-inspired decor, luxurious interiors, and a clear view over the waterhole. The rates were very affordable. The staff were so hospitable and arranged a thrilling three-hour game drive. We'd definitely return when we get the chance.

The treehouses have everything you need for a luxurious glamping stay. David, the owner, was very kind and helpful, and gave me great support as I planned the rest of my trip. I stayed one night and went on a day safari. The guide knew a lot, explained things calmly, and helped me learn about nature as well as see the animals. I'd come back anytime.

Watching elephants drink at the waterhole in the evening was fantastic, and there were friendly monkeys all over, along with other unexpected wildlife encounters. Hwange was easy to reach. We were part of a tour, so I can't judge the price or value, but we loved our stay. One caution: wine cost $5 per glass, and the glasses were tiny. They often topped them up instead of pouring a full glass. We think we had about one bottle but were charged for nine glasses.

The food was delicious every day, and on our 6am morning drives they offered us an early continental breakfast that worked really well. The staff were always smiling, friendly, and helpful. One night we even saw elephants at the watering hole behind the main chalets. We camped in a tent and had no complaints. They gave us plenty of blankets to keep warm, and the outdoor shower had hot water. The WiFi setup is a little silly, but it wasn't a problem. You're in a national park, after all, so who wants to be glued to their phone?
