Livingstone Lodge

The breakfasts were pleasant, and the serving staff were nice, but management was abysmal. We emailed afterward and got no reply or apology. We stayed at Livingstone Lodge for four nights and left utterly exhausted. In room number 3 by the pool, a very bright light would randomly switch on throughout the night, and we had to turn it off each time. Management didn't offer another room or fix it. The receptionist said, “that is the design of the light”!!! They also had workmen on site late in the evening. Our 2-year-old was asleep at 8pm, then woke to drilling and banging at 9 and 9.30pm. I had to ask them to stop twice, and I was definitely angrier the second time. We've stayed in many hotels and lodges over the last 30 years, and for the price we paid, this was one of the worst. Avoid Livingstone Lodge, especially room 3. We'll look elsewhere on future visits to the falls.

The staff were nice, breakfast was good, and we got a free upgrade to our room. It's a great deal if a 30-minute walk into town doesn't bother you. The wifi usually worked very well, and the room seemed clean with comfy beds, a hot shower, and a fan/AC that kept us comfortable on hot days. It was very quiet, and the only thing that occasionally bothered me was the light turning on randomly.

The team and service were great, but the rooms felt bare and dull compared with the photos in the gallery. The showers need a full makeover since water gets everywhere while you're using them. Some room decor and TVs would help, and breakfast could use more choices.

The location is a long way from the attractions, and the prices are high. The rooms felt gloomy, the bathroom was shameful, and the towels had holes in them. Breakfast was just as disappointing. The hotel is very poorly maintained, and I wouldn't recommend staying here.
