The Little Outlook

There were some good points to our stay. The bedding looked and smelled clean, the water pressure was strong and the water got hot enough. Bottled water was supplied each day, along with a kettle, cups, glasses, instant coffee, tea, body wash, shampoo, insect repellent and a shower cap. Breakfast had a few hot options, including toast, bacon and eggs benedict, and they packed it for us when our tour pickup was at 7:00 a.m. Mr. Sibanda, Ms. Noku, Ms. Precious and Ms. Florence were polite, and Mr. Byron thanked me when I returned the key. The room wasn't ready properly when we arrived. The toilet had no seat, though Design Afrique contacted them straight away, and a seat had been installed by the time we got back three hours later from a sunset cruise. I thanked Mr. Byron, but when he saw us come in, he could have told us it had been fixed. Our Africa Travel Tour Guide was surprised that no staff from The Little Outlook welcomed us when he dropped us off from the airport. There were several other things that need attention. Three staff members had to come in and figure out that the TV cable box wasn't plugged in. The AC was weak, so the fan helped. The towels had bleach stains, and shirts hung too low and touched the shelf. The doors, walls and bathroom need repairs, and the shampoo and body wash kept sliding off the sloping shower holder. They ran out of instant black coffee, and the cold breakfast choices were just two kinds of cereal. Despite the good parts, this place didn't meet the standard I'd expect from decent accommodation.

The rooms are lovely and have a view, and the pool is really pretty. Everyone was so warm, kind and welcoming. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

Our booking was canceled the day before we were due to stay because the hotel wasn't going to be ready for guests. We stopped by while in Vic Falls and took photos. It's hard to believe they'll be ready to host anyone within the next year.

The location suited me perfectly because I wanted to stay outside the busy town hub. Reception was very helpful arranging transport for different activities, and they also pointed out areas that were dangerous and places that were safe. The service was friendly, and the clean, comfortable rooms and well-kept property made for a pleasant stay.
