Los Juncos Patagonian Lake House

The lake view was nice, but with everything else considered, it wasn’t worth the price. We booked through Booking.com on a friend’s recommendation, and the hotel fell well below the reviews and our expectations. It felt like an outdated, partly abandoned place that may have been famous once. For what we paid, the facilities were worthless, and the overall feel was more like a hostel. Our room was freezing at night even with the small heater on, in May 2024. They did bring us an extra blanket when we asked. The people were generally friendly and willing to help if asked, but the main area didn’t feel clean, and the kitchen where food is prepared definitely wasn’t clean. Breakfast was mediocre at best, and the coffee in the morning wasn’t drinkable. You had to pay extra for Nespresso or tea, which I’ve never encountered before, especially at a hotel at this price. Dinner was tasty but extremely overpriced. We could have stayed in Bariloche for half the money and been much better off. The hotel is on a main street, so the rooms are noisy.

We had a peaceful stay, and the staff were great. We enjoyed the dinner they offered, including the vegetarian options. The Juncos lake house has a distinctive charm inside, with beautiful decor and lovely surroundings and lake views. It’ll stay a lovely memory, and I’d return without hesitation!

We were traveling around Argentina for nine months, and the dinner cooked by the private chef here was the best food of the whole journey. The house and rooms are thoughtfully designed and comfortable, and both the owners and staff were warm and friendly. Posada los Juncos is perfectly placed between the City Center and the Circuito Chico. We stayed at the end of last year and enjoyed every moment. Lucas and team, thanks so much for the experience. A cozy, beautiful place with lovely hosts and a very good breakfast. You can also book dinner by a chef who lives nearby, as long as you reserve by 6PM. The food was pretty good, and it’s a really pleasant, quiet setting for a romantic dinner.
