Carsson Hotel Down Town Buenos Aires

The location was the only real plus. The beds were awful, with pillows that felt like sacks of fluff, and the breakfast was mediocre. We were told Argentinians don’t really eat breakfast. The rooms themselves were okay, but the stay became a nightmare when we woke in the night covered in bed bug bites. The front desk quickly moved us, only for us to find bed bugs in that room too. The next room was much smaller than the larger one I’d paid for. By morning we could move again to a somewhat bigger room, but the damage was done. This was at the very start of our trip with G Adventures. The hotel did launder our clothes, but only after I asked, and it was a huge inconvenience. My husband’s bites stayed inflamed and got worse in the heat throughout the trip. We had to throw away our expensive luggage, shoes, boots, and clothes. The hotel offered no further help. I tried contacting management, but after they had our payment, I heard nothing. I was very disappointed and wouldn’t recommend anyone stay here. You get what you pay for, so visitors, beware.

We were on a GAdventures tour to Iguazu Falls, and the bedbug problem made our time in Argentina really difficult. One night we woke up itchy and covered in bites. We reported it right away, but the next room they moved us to had bed bugs too. Room three was much smaller, though we did find a bed without bugs there. We slept there that night and got a larger room the following night. They provided laundry at no charge, but as a precaution we had to throw out most of our clothes and shoes and buy replacements for the trip. We filed a formal complaint with both the hotel and GAdventure and still haven’t heard back. There was no apology or compensation for our belongings. I’d urge GAdventures to find different accommodation for its guests. The staff were somewhat friendly, which is why this gets one star, the lowest rating. Breakfast was the most limited I’ve ever seen at a hotel. If you’re thinking of staying here, take this as a warning. You really do get what you pay for.

The patio was very nice, and the hotel was clean, with a decent breakfast and a good location. Most rooms have a ridiculous view of a window, though. Bottled water is expensive, so don’t buy it there.

There’s no bar, coffee making equipment, or food in the hotel, just a basic breakfast. After breakfast we carried our coffee into the adjoining lounge, and within minutes staff took the cups away, saying we weren’t allowed to drink there. They didn’t give a reason beyond “it’s the rules.” For a place calling itself four star, the small rooms are dark and worn out, with views straight onto the next room’s air conditioning units. Two stars at most. It really is a crappy hotel, and I’d choose somewhere else.
