The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, especially Lucas and all the housekeepers. They kept the sheets clean, turned down the room, and swept and mopped every day. The location is amazing, with so much to do nearby. The hotel itself feels more like a solid three-star place than a four-star one. The pictures don’t quite match the rooms now, and it didn’t feel clean or luxurious. Some towels were old and torn, paint was chipping, breakfast wasn’t good, and the elevators were broken or unreliable for half our stay. The TV only gets local cable, and our keycard kept disconnecting. It took about five days for someone to work out that an iPhone next to it was deactivating the card. It can also be loud: we heard our neighbor’s toilet as if it were in our room, and DJs across the street and downstairs were audible even from the ninth floor. Luckily, our white-noise machine helped a lot. It gets the job done, but don’t expect fancy.

The service was great, but the shower had no hot water. Breakfast was just okay, not really good, and it was very noisy even up on the 10th floor.

The rooms have chipped paint, damaged furniture, and a strange old smell. The pictures make the hotel look much better than it really is, and the noise is awful. Bars outside blast loud music until 3 or 4 a.m. every day, not just on weekends or holidays. The rooms that don’t face the street look onto very loud air-conditioning machines instead. The walls are so thin you can hear conversations in other rooms clearly. My stay was so bad I asked the receptionist for a refund for the second night of my two-night booking. They said, “It’s Buenos Aires, what do you expect,” and refused. I still booked a different hotel for the next night.

The beds are comfortable and the location is great. The rooms are basic and functional, though it doesn’t feel as high-end as a four-star hotel in the US. The suite has a private master bedroom.
