Mio Buenos Aires

The hotel is great, the location is good, and the rooms are very nice. Still, for an expensive place, the bathroom is tiny and fitted with what look like $10 accessories. Taking a shower is a logistical nightmare, and after two days we still hadn’t worked out where to hang a towel without dripping water when we got out. I’d also skip the cappuccino included with breakfast. I think they leave the coffee out of the recipe, because it’s all milk.

Hotel Mio is my first choice in Buenos Aires. It’s in Recoleta, a safe area to walk around, near shopping malls, the cemetery where Eva Peron is buried, and several other attractions. The room, service, location, and staff were all great. A special mention for Meli, Noe, Axel, and Denise in the breakfast room, plus the reception and door staff. The spa, bathing pool, and cardio room were most welcoming.

The service was excellent, and our room was very clean with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was decent, with dishes available to order, and Rufino restaurant was delicious with a good wine selection. Our room was on the terrace floor, which made it a lovely place to relax with a glass of wine. On departure day, rain and cold kept us from walking around, and we had a few hours before our flight, so we went to the spa. We were greeted rather unkindly and told we could only take a shower. With few people around, we managed to arrange a couple of hours by the pool. That’s probably why I’d mark the service down a little, as it felt a bit rude for a five-star hotel. The location is very good, right by a cemetery, a park with a metal flower, and an art museum, with restaurants and shops all around. The clock tower, famous palaces, and a very famous library are within walking distance, as are the Congress Building and Palazzo Barollo.

The breakfast buffet was a dream, and Rufino restaurant was great too. The room was spacious, the location very convenient, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. A fantastic hotel. Well done, Mío Hotel, we highly recommend it.
