The owner was especially kind and friendly, always available and careful to follow the safety protocols for guests. The cabins are lovely and have everything needed for a great stay. Thanks for a wonderful time in El Calafate. We hope to return soon!
We stayed in January 2021, and it was a huge disappointment. The cabins were in terrible condition, with poor maintenance and cleanliness, and the website photos were completely false. Mr. Mariano Speranza seems to forget his guests very easily, so I’ll help him remember. I admit he was friendly, but you don’t choose a place based on the owners’ friendliness. I can’t recommend it.
We were four friends staying Friday, November 25th through the 27th, 2022, and honestly, the place was a disaster. It was filthy everywhere. The sheets and towels looked used, the bathrooms leaked, and there was no hot water. The oven door was propped up with a hook, and the place smelled strongly of gas. We asked the owner for help, but he seemed in a hurry, and sometimes didn’t answer at all. It felt as if he thought he was doing us a favor. The cabins leave a lot to be desired, especially since they’re far from the center and up a hill. If you don’t want to deal with dirt and poor treatment, don’t go. I hope this helps others avoid the same unpleasant experience.
About 15 days ago we stayed here, and it was a disaster. Everything this man offered was in poor condition, and the cabin didn’t match the photos. He offered us four bedrooms, but two didn’t exist. There were three beds on a mezzanine, along with a stained jacuzzi whose faucet was propped up with a brick. The roof had holes, and thank God it didn’t rain, or our clothes would have gotten soaked. We had to keep everything in our suitcases and on the floor because there was no closet. After we complained, he brought us an old, dirty sewing machine table to use as a table. One downstairs bathroom was broken and wouldn’t flush. He never fixed it, so we had to remove the tank lid and flush that way. The dishes were a mishmash of glasses and cups, and there weren’t enough utensils. The towels were old and dirty, and the refrigerator didn’t match the one in the photo. The downstairs bedroom doorknobs stuck out, so there was no privacy. The kitchen faucet was loose and wobbly. He’d left an old used sponge, a nearly empty bar of white soap, and only a drop of detergent. The advertised down comforters were downstairs, while upstairs we had old, torn quilted comforters. The deck door was partly covered with cardboard because its glass was broken. The grill and barbecue he offered were disgusting, and the chairs were old and broken. We had to sit on their edges for fear of falling. There was no office or maid service. Everyone else we dealt with was excellent, and the places we visited on the excursions were the most beautiful we’ve ever seen. But that was all overshadowed by having to return to this depressing, not-so-cheap place. I want to warn people to look carefully before dealing with this man. I’m sure he’ll deny everything, but I have photos and videos to prove what I’m saying. Everything here is true, so please take it into account before renting.
