The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and could arrange tours and transportation. The property is newer, with new, clean beds and bedding. But the upkeep let it down. Several things were broken and left unfixed. One day two bathrooms ran out of toilet paper, and we had to look in another bathroom because nobody replenished it. Bathrooms should have been cleaned and checked every day, but clearly weren't. The main bathroom on the ground floor smelled. The location is another drawback: it's on the far edge of Calafate, around a 45-minute walk to the center and 20 minutes to the nearest store. Without a car, you're stuck at the hostel. There's no public transportation or Uber, only taxis. During my stay quite a few rooms or beds were empty, and with that location it'll have a hard time competing. It's possible this place could close. I'd give it 3.3 out of 5, rounded to 3.

The staff really looked after us. When one of our excursions ran into trouble, they called on our behalf because our phones couldn't make international calls. When that tour fell through, they helped book another at the last minute and gave us clear instructions. A friend also left her wallet in the room, and we only realized while riding a bus to puerto natales. The staff helped us figure out how to get it back. Their quick response and clever help saved our whole trip. Absolute angels! The mate event upstairs was phenomenal. We'd spent a week hoping to try mate and learn about it, and then found out the hostel was running an activity. It was perfect. The top floor has amazing views, with plenty of deck space to enjoy them, plus indoor areas. There's also a gym with a decent setup.

It felt like home even though I was only there for two days, and I really wish I could've stayed longer. The breakfast was varied and delicious. The staff were amazing too. When I lost my coat, one of the girls at the front desk lent me hers, and that saved my glacier experience. A wonderful stay.

Agustina at reception was such a kind, helpful person, and she really made our trip. She arranged tours and drivers, gave us recommendations and useful advice, and helped with everything we needed. When my girlfriend lost her phone during a flight, Agustina even contacted the airline and translated for us. We really appreciated her friendly, always-happy-to-help attitude. The hostel was peaceful and quiet, a good place to rest up before all the tours. It was really spacious and had lots to use, including a gym, kitchen, rooftop, and game room. This wasn't a typical hostel. We'd definitely recommend it.

There’s plenty of room to relax outside, and the big reception space has books and games. The staff are super friendly, and the hostel is close to restaurants, shops, and groceries. Rooms are spacious, with good Wi-Fi, heating, and a TV. You can use the open kitchen, including the fridge, cooking utensils, and kettle for hot water. Breakfast isn’t enough, but you can pick up food and cook there. They also offer activities like making empanadas and laundry service, which costs 10,000 Argentinian pesos per bag. It’s a budget-friendly place and good value in El Calafate.
