I chose this hotel because I needed to sleep early and get up at 2:30 a.m. to hike Fitz Roy, but I was put in a room right above the restaurant. The loud music continued well past midnight, and after the restaurant closed, the cleaning was very noisy too. I barely slept, which hurt both my hiking plans and the trip as a whole. I understand a hotel with a restaurant may have some noise, but this was unreasonable late at night, especially without warning when the room was assigned. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you need a quiet place to rest, particularly before an early outing.

The kitchen was the biggest plus: it's huge, with lots of burners and sinks, so plenty of people can cook at once. Still, it would've been nice if the toilets actually flushed.

The rooms were fine, and there was plenty of hot water. The kitchen has the utensils you need, and the bus terminal and Cerro torre side trail entrance are very close.

It was quiet and mostly empty while I was there, which made for a calm stay. The hostel has a big kitchen, lots of hot showers, and cheap beds in shared rooms. You can also barbecue outside. It’s conveniently close to the main street and the “cheap” supermarket. I’d recommend it!

I wouldn’t recommend it. The location is okay, but El Chalten is so small that everywhere is pretty well located. The price felt far too high for what you get, and the reception staff were unfriendly.
