I wouldn't come back. The rooms weren't heated, and there was nowhere to store luggage. Between checkout and my bus, I asked the owner if I could leave one bag for a few hours, but they wouldn't allow it. I was also trying to work quietly in the common area and step out for coffee, but was told I couldn't leave my luggage and had to leave the common area by noon. The owner wasn't understanding at all. Other reviews mention the same lack of helpfulness. Most hostels let you sit in the common room after checkout if you've paid to stay there. We had much better experiences at other hotels nearby. This wasn't good value, and payment was cash only with no change.

It's a comfortable, pleasant place, and I thought the location was great. Keep in mind they only take cash, even if third-party listings say cards are accepted. The staff went out of their way to help, including preparing some breakfast for our early mornings and responding right away when we had concerns.

The location is great and the hosts are nice, but I had cold cereal and toast for breakfast, very hard beds, unreliable Wi-Fi, and no hot water whenever I tried to get some. Probably the worst hotel I've stayed at.

My husband and I had a terrible experience here. We booked through Booking with payment at the property, and the order said “no credit card required,” as it did at other places. There was no note saying credit payment wasn't possible. When we arrived, we were surprised to hear they only accepted cash. We didn't have the full amount in cash, so after talking it through with the employees using Google Translate, they agreed to discount the amount so we could pay cash and let us into the room. That conversation was pleasant, since they understood the payment terms hadn't been made clear in the booking. About 15 minutes later, when we came to pay at reception as agreed, the woman in charge was rude and wouldn't listen. She demanded the full amount, going back on what the reception staff had agreed. We explained again that we couldn't pay that way and offered to pay the full amount for just one night, then leave the next day, but she refused. We were still trying to work out a solution when, just a few minutes later, they aggressively told us to take our things and leave. It was 8:00 PM. During our week in El Celtan, we didn't encounter any other place that wouldn't accept credit. We stayed at three more places because of full occupancy. We had an amazing week in El Chalten and the surrounding area, and every other place we stayed was pleasant and treated us well. We advise people to avoid this bad place. They don't know how to respect guests and even humiliated us.
