At 36,000 ARS/$26 USD a night, I had a really good stay in the dorm. There were only three beds, and sometimes one was empty, so it never felt crowded. The shared spaces were well kept and cleaned every day. It’s easy to meet other travelers, but the location in a quieter part of El Chalten also gives you space. People often leave cooking ingredients or snacks for others, which is much appreciated, and the owner is very kind. The wifi was pretty slow, around 3 mpbs, though fine for basic browsing. Hot water was always available. It’s about a 15-minute walk to town and 20 minutes to the main Fitz Roy trailhead, but the Laguna Torre trailhead starts right beside the hostel. There’s also a laundry service just a minute away.

We stayed in a private apartment but could use the shared spaces too. The location and price were good for el Chalten, and we’d stay again. The place was unbelievably clean, the cleanest I’ve stayed in: they changed the sheets and towels every day, and even replaced the shower curtains!

The house was always warm, which felt great after long days hiking, and there were comfortable chairs and a sofa for evenings. I stayed four nights in the four-bed dorm. It’s a lovely, spacious hostel right beside the Laguna Torre trailhead. Emilio responds quickly if you message about an issue. The showers were warm, the beds comfortable, and there were two well-equipped showers. We’d definitely return to El Chalten.

Such a relaxed vibe, and the owner was really friendly. Nicest hostel I’ve stayed in, in Patagonia or anywhere else in the world.

The people here are so nice, and the place is clean and very reasonably priced. It’s extremely close to the Laguna Torre trailhead. A good local family to support.
