Hotel Poincenot

During our five weeks in South America, this was one of the best breakfasts we had. We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were a reasonable size, clean, and had comfy beds and pillows. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Lynetta, who was always so smiley.

The bed and pillows were nice, but the rooms were basic and had no amenities. Breakfast was okay. The staff weren’t accommodating. If you want hot water, you have to go to reception every two minutes. I was sick and asked for a kettle, which they had, but they refused. They said I could upgrade to a more expensive room to get one. That was ridiculous and left me feeling unwelcome.

Avoid this hotel. Our room was tiny and smelled strongly of mold, and there were flies around the property, including by the breakfast food, which was disgusting. The hotel also seemed poorly maintained. Julieta and Oriana at the front desk had awful attitudes and weren’t helpful with our questions or problems. After the power and water stopped working, we asked for a 30-minute late checkout and were refused. A really terrible stay.

The power and water went out during the day, and the rooms were tiny and smelled terrible. Flies were buzzing around the breakfast food, and the staff, Julieta and Oriana, were extremely unpleasant. Definitely stay somewhere else.
