Hotel Necochea

The location is very good, and the room price feels reasonable for the service. Breakfast is good value too. What stood out most to me was the excellent service from the owners and all the staff. I’ve read plenty of reviews, and I think the place may have suffered after the pandemic. Some details could use improvement.

The hot water for showers was the one good thing. We were told there were no blankets, spoken to rudely, and couldn’t get help from anyone. The only person who spoke kindly to us was a white haired woman serving breakfast. Everything else was bad. I don’t recommend it.

We paid 200 reais per night, and after this stay we learned that a low price doesn't always mean good quality. We only stayed one night because there was no way to change hotels right away, but four hours after checking in the next day, we left to look for somewhere else. They still charged us for all the nights because BOOKING couldn't cancel the reservation. Worse, we couldn't leave a review on BOOKING because they marked the booking as if we hadn't stayed there. The room was sold to us through BOOKING as having "air conditioning," but all it had was a sort of fan that made noise nonstop. They also advertised parking, then charged us 100 pesos for one night. The sheets were dirty and had holes, there were clumps of hair, the bathroom was bad, and everything smelled musty. We were lucky not to find rats too. This hotel is awful. Pay a little more and stay somewhere else. Don't fall for this dump's scam.

I've been staying here for years, and I recommend it without hesitation. The people are really friendly, the breakfast is spectacular, and the hotel is right in the city center.
