Hotel California

I spent my childhood and teenage years there, then went back as an adult with my family. They always made us feel like friends. The warmth, kindness, and attention, along with the river right out front, make this place one I want everyone to know about. Best place in the world.

I had such a great time when I went a few years ago! I thought it was closed. Has it reopened? I’d love to visit again!

My family, our dog, and I had seven unforgettable days here. It’s a beautiful, quiet, welcoming place, with a gorgeous pool and a dining room you can enjoy any time. The breakfast was delicious, and the service was excellent, attentive, and friendly.

We stayed just one night because there was nowhere else available. The place is old, dirty, and poorly maintained, and I wouldn’t recommend it except perhaps as a stopover. The room was freezing, and there was no TV. At that price, I’d expect one. We called ahead to ask if there was covered garage parking and were told yes, but that wasn’t true. They said parking was available, yet when we arrived early in the morning there was no space. We parked wherever we could, then around 8:30 a.m. they knocked on our door and made us move the car. The owner, or someone speaking for him, said there was a security guard, but I didn’t see one when we arrived. Maybe he was invisible, I don’t know. Nobody even apologized. They should make clear that the garage isn’t covered now because of falling rocks, and that there won’t be a garage space if you arrive early in the morning. Horrible place.
