Hotel Las Chirimoyas

The place itself is beautiful, and the service was excellent. We paid 95,000 pesos for one night for our family of four, which seemed reasonable to me. Breakfast was pretty good too. The coffee was the one letdown, haha, but the staff were so friendly.

The location is good and the staff are friendly, but the apartment they gave us was in poor condition. Some lights were burned out, it hadn't been cleaned properly, the windows had broken locks that felt unsafe, and all the chairs had been put up on a table. It was poorly maintained. The pool water was in bad shape too.

The owners are kind and attentive, and Jorge's life story is inspiring. His care and dedication to us were outstanding throughout. The place has a lovely view of the hills and a pool, and it feels incredibly peaceful. We highly recommend it and will definitely come back on our next visit.

Our room, number 2, had a small but pleasant terrace with tables and chairs for guests. The room itself had no mini-fridge or phone, and its only window looked onto that terrace. The mattress and pillows were poor, and the bathroom was extremely cramped. When it rained, a plastic sheet on the bathroom ceiling made a very loud noise. It seems to be a leaking skylight. The neighborhood is lovely and the location is convenient, near restaurants and shopping centers. Parking was good too. The building is clearly an old house, though it was generally maintained well. One shared bathroom, however, was in very poor hygienic condition when we tried to use it. We were there for a week with my partner and our one-and-a-half-month-old baby. We couldn't use the pool because it rained every day, but the photo they advertise showed the pool's condition at the hotel. We chose the place specifically because the pool has a fence for our daughter. We've attached a photo. It was a complete lie. Breakfast wasn't a buffet. They brought it to the table when we sat down. It was very basic: coffee with milk, either very strong or very bad, orange juice from a carton rather than freshly squeezed, one slice of cheese and one slice of ham per person, tortillas, pastries, and white bread. There were also small disposable portions of jam, dulce de leche, and cream cheese. No other gluten-free or flourless options were available. We asked for fruit and they took the suggestion into account, so they had some the next day. The hotel isn't open 24 hours. We wanted to heat up dinner, but the dining room was locked and we could never get in because no one was in charge. There are no spaces for children. The women who work there were helpful, especially Eli. They also handle guest check-in and check-out, cleaning, breakfast, and various other tasks. In our opinion, these details aren't what you'd expect from a 4-star hotel. Maybe a 3-star one.
