I still think about my time at Alhue in beautiful San Martin de los Andes. Herman was around every day, either working or checking in on the hostel and the team, and he shared so much useful information. The staff were all really kind. The place was clean, affordable, and central, with a roomy shared kitchen and a dining and lounge area for meals or getting some work done. One of my favorite Patagonia memories ♥ 🏃 ⛰

The breakfast bread and spreads were delicious, though it could have used something like fruit, eggs, or yogurt to feel more complete. We liked the comfy beds, the well-kept bathroom, and all the tables and shared spaces. There’s colourful art everywhere, which gives the hostel a homey feel, and it’s a short walk from the main plaza. The staff were incredibly friendly and flexible when we booked at the last minute and arrived early. I’d happily come back and would recommend it.

Loved the colourful, creative feel inside, especially the way the hostel was decorated. There’s homemade bread at breakfast, and everyone was friendly. The dorms are basic but do the job. Out back, there’s a huge, secure area with plenty of grass and room to spread out, including space for motorbikes. A lovely, homely hostel with great owners. I’d return a thousand times!

A lovely place to stay in San Martin de los Andes. The kitchen was great, everything was clean, and everyone went out of their way to help. I’d recommend it.
