My friend’s Schnitzel was oversalted, and the only vegetarian option, pumpkin Falafel, came with half-wilted salad in a watery dressing. It cost 15€. I’d drive farther down the road to the other cafe or gastahus.

A proper Stammtisch and genuine atmosphere, with locals meeting to play cards, watch TV, or catch up on the latest gossip. This is a no-frills traditional Austrian Gasthof, with great food at affordable prices. We also enjoyed the good coffee and smoke-free atmosphere. Bring cash, since plastic money may not be accepted.

The salad with four slices of tomato is gluten-free. As for whether the pastry dish really is, I’ll never know.

We were served a portion of deep-fried seelachs. The menu of the day was displayed to draw customers in, but it was only available at lunchtime. When our group of four adults and two children asked about children’s menus, the old woman was very unfriendly.
