The balcony had plenty of room to sit outside, and the beds were comfortable. The proprietor was very friendly and quickly sorted out our questions. We also really liked the spotless apartment and its quality furnishings. The kitchen was better equipped than we usually find in a holiday rental, with an oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge and a small freezer compartment. There was plenty of space in the easy-to-reach boot room too. Hummerau is in an unbeatable spot in Inneralpbach, just across the road and through the car park to the gondolas. The sauna was great, though it would have helped if it opened earlier. Some of our group finished skiing around 2-3 but couldn’t use it until 5. A couple of small downsides: we couldn’t open the bedroom windows, so it got a bit too warm. The hot tub was more lukewarm than hot. It was only open three days a week, which wasn’t a problem by itself, but draining and refilling it each time meant the water didn’t have time to heat up. We had an amazing stay and would definitely come back.

The location near the train station is hard to beat, but we felt the price was too high for what the apartment hotel offers. The place felt a bit impersonal, and we would have appreciated more warmth and friendliness from the owner. They work at the nearby family hotel, so perhaps some of that atmosphere could carry over. We won’t be returning to Hummerau. The bread delivery was a real help. With no bakery or shops in town, it’s worth paying a little extra to have bread brought to the holiday apartment. We didn’t try the optional breakfast. Our apartment was small and had only the basics. There was enough storage for a week of skiing, but nowhere to dry things. We were right beside the garbage depot, which was quite overflowing during our stay, so I’d suggest asking for a different apartment. The whirlpool wasn’t open every day, and the large pool couldn’t be used at all.

The area is lovely for hiking, and the Alpbachtalcard comes with plenty of benefits. Our apartment room was beautiful and new, with a spacious balcony. It was clean, and the beds were comfortable. There’s a nice pool, but it doesn’t open until noon, which is a shame on very hot days. We weren’t especially impressed with breakfast, particularly at its usual price of 16 euros per person. It was included for us, though apartment guests have to book it separately. During our week there, the rolls were properly baked, brown and crispy on just one day. The nearest supermarket is over 3 km away.

We came for a ski holiday in February, with two families staying in separate apartments. The apartments were clean, authentic and had what we needed. It takes about five minutes to walk to the lift. After skiing, we really enjoyed the spa in the basement and the outdoor pool, which was open even in winter. The reception was friendly, and checking out was easy. You can order breakfast bread, which is left in a bag the next morning at 7:00. We’ll definitely come again!
