The host was friendly and quick to respond, which made the stay feel personal. We also loved how close the apartment was to local sights and hiking trails. Inside, it was stylishly furnished with modern comforts, and the mountain views made the place feel peaceful. A real highlight of my time in Heiligenblut, and a lovely home away from home.

The roads and paths had been cleared after a heavy snowfall, and the people who did that deserve credit. The pass had only reopened two days earlier, but the scenery was stunning. Definitely worth a visit if you’re nearby.

A lovely apartment in a fantastic spot. Restaurants, grocery stores, sports shops, and hiking routes are all close by.

We’d paid for two nights, on 13.11. and 14.11., but when we arrived there was nobody there. The host had a Czech phone number and didn’t answer despite our seven calls. We left feeling bitter. I hope he doesn’t do this again to other travelers like us.

We could walk around Heiligenblut from the house, and there are shops, restaurants, and an information center nearby. The view from Berghaus Glockner is fantastic, and there’s a cable car in town up to Scharek. We stayed in one of the mostly privately rented apartments, and it worked well with our children and dog. If you’re lucky, your apartment may have a parking space in the kind of garage on the ground floor. We’d definitely recommend staying here.
