Pension Buerle

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful to us as cyclists. They showed us the secure cellar for our bikes, then washed and dried our cycling kit, taking care to ask about the washing instructions. It dried overnight in our room. We woke up to a truly amazing view, and breakfast was good too. The location is incredible, with amazing views of Heiligenblut’s church.

At 150€ with breakfast, it wasn’t too bad, but I still think the room was overpriced. We arrived around 20:00 on Friday. The bathroom was clean and presentable, but the bedroom was far from clean. My son slept in a bunk bed and found blood on the wall, chewing gum stuck to the ceiling, and a broken bed slat. There were also several ugly stains on the walls. The building and its interior need attention and feel tired, apart from the dining room, which was quite nicely presented. Breakfast was quite good. There was a quaint little bar beside the dining room, but it seemed completely unused on a Friday night, which was a shame. It could have added a lot of value to the stay and brought in more revenue for the owners. The place is simply a Pension, so it’s more like a hostel than a hotel. Worth a stay if you’re tired and desperate, otherwise look around for something more suitable.

The staff were good, and I liked both the room and the location. Breakfast was good too.

The skibus stops right outside, and you can ski back to the pension. There’s a ski room, though it felt a little small when everyone needed it at once. Breakfast had a good selection; dinner was standard local food, but nothing especially delicious and much the same each evening. The furniture and bathroom felt dated, and sound carried from other rooms. For the price, though, it was good value.
