Binders Budget City Mountain Hotel

The receptionist was extremely unpleasant and not helpful. Check-in took an hour for our five rooms, and we were charged 5 euros just to check in, which I've never had to pay at a hotel before. The rooms were okay, though small and nothing special. Breakfast was good, but there wasn't much to choose from. The bread was good.

The location was good and my room was clean. It was tiny, but just right for one person during my three-night stay. It had almost everything I needed, though I would have liked a kettle.

The staff were really friendly, and the breakfast was good. Shops and other services were nearby, and the train station was a good distance away. The hotel was high quality and very good value for the price in Innsbruck. The room was perfect for my nights there, and I'd recommend it.

We had booked Binders Hotel Innsbruck for 26-30 December, but an unexpected death in our family meant we had to travel to our home country for the final rites. It happened suddenly and couldn't have been anticipated. We contacted the hotel as soon as we could, but the replies came slowly and at badly timed moments, adding stress to an already devastating time. We weren't asking for a full refund. We repeatedly asked either for part of the money back or to rebook for a later date, even if that meant paying extra. Each request was dismissed. They offered no alternatives or goodwill, and simply pointed to the rigid policy and travel insurance. There was no effort to engage with us or show empathy. A non-refundable rate is one thing. The complete lack of human understanding in a bereavement is what we found unacceptable. Binders Hotel Innsbruck made policies seem more important than people. These bookings feel like a trap for tourists: once they've taken your money, expect no flexibility whatever the circumstances. The hospitality felt cold and transactional. As young working adults, this was a major financial hit, and the way it was handled made an already painful situation worse. We won't book here again, and strongly advise others to be extremely cautious.
