Cafe Pension Alpina

We popped into Cafe Pension Alpina for food and coffee after visiting the top of Innsbruck. The staff were welcoming and easy to talk to as soon as we sat down. The food tasted great and came in large portions. Keep in mind they only accept cash.

We slept really well and enjoyed the good breakfast. We left a jacket in the hotel room, and the hotel manager was kind enough to send it up the mountain with the lift. Such great service, thank you!

We had a small lunch of soup and schnitzel, and it was excellent. The place was very busy, but the service was still excellent.

We were five people in three rooms for one night, and the station was easy to reach from this great location. The bedrooms were clean and had good quality mattresses, though the internet wasn't great. I also wasn't keen on the glass wall between the bedroom and the bathroom. There's no parking onsite; the funicular parking is free at night, but you have to pay from 8am. The restaurant was a letdown. The portions were huge, but the meal of the day came with three different pieces of badly overcooked meat and overfried fries. The salads had so much dressing I could've filled a glass with it, and the schnitzel was dry with overfried fries too. I'd come back for the accommodation, but not the restaurant.
