The service staff were so kind and positive that they earned the extra star. For ski food, though, I wouldn’t recommend this place. Portions are much smaller than elsewhere, getting the food takes a very long time, and the food seems like it may have been microwaved. It’s also cold inside because the doors are open all the time.

The best part was staying up on the mountain after the last lift at 5pm. We had the sunset, a peaceful evening, and all the playgrounds to ourselves with the kids. The sauna has an amazing view, and the whirlpool was available all evening. We spent three wonderful days at the lodge in August and fell in love with it. The rooms are newly renovated and comfortable, and Maria and Benny were friendly, caring hosts who were always ready to help. The food was great and made with care, with vegan and vegetarian options. It’s very kid friendly too, with toy cars at the restaurant for children to play with while parents enjoy the view. We were there with our 3 and 5 year olds. This was definitely the highlight of our vacation in Zillertal. Thanks for the great memories!

In the evenings, alpacas wander around the yard, which is fun for everyone. There’s plenty to do for kids and adults, from playgrounds, a small pond, and eagle shows to scenic viewpoints and hiking trails with breathtaking views. The rooms at Ahornlodge are fresh and tidy, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is varied and delicious, and the restaurant menu is pretty good too.

The welcome chocolate and schnapps were a lovely touch, thanks for those. This is a lovely cabin on the mountain, with clean apartments furnished beautifully. Maria and Benny are extremely kind and accommodating, always trying to please their guests. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, and the sauna has a very nice view of the mountains opposite. Definitely worth a visit.
